String Theory

By: Shreya A, 2nd year

Ultimately, string theory aspires to be a “theory of everything” that provides a single, coherent framework for understanding all fundamental forces and particles in the universe.

String theory is a concept in physics that suggests everything in the universe is made up of tiny, vibrating strings. Instead of thinking of particles like electrons or quarks as little dots, string theory imagines them as tiny loops or strings that vibrate in different ways to create all the different particles and forces we observe. It’s like thinking of the universe as a grand symphony where different (vibrations) create different particles.

Classical gravity refers to the description of gravitational forces using classical physics, primarily through Newton’s law of universal gravitation and Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

But the same concepts not applicable at quantum level, for that purpose string theory plays a major role by implementing a GRAVITON which is a hypothesized framework of gravitation force in quantum level.

The string theory was proved mathematically but unable to prove physically because of its extra dimensions upto 10-11.We all know that our possible dimensions are 3 and 4th dimension will be time and space remaining dimensions are hidden,so it is the main drawback of the string theory.
